You're on a hike and someone falls. In an instant, everything changes - it could be a stroke, heart attack, broken leg, who knows? No matter what it is or whether it’s someone in your group or a hiker you encounter, there’s a person who needs help and you're in a position to step in. The clock starts now! Don’t wait until it happens for real to see how you’d perform. This is a chance to be faced with sudden medical issues and provide assistance in a safe, controlled environment and receive feedback. In this challenge, participants will go on a short hike, and staged along the hike will be realistic simulated medical scenarios. It will be up to the participants to use the materials they have in their packs to properly approach the scene, assess the patient, perform patient care, and plan for how to get them out of the woods. There will be an instructor at each station monitoring the participant and providing constructive feedback along with additional tips & tricks. Whether you decide to compete against others or just yourself, it’s an invaluable experience to get multiple reps of being faced with sudden unknown medical emergencies. You’ll have fun, refresh your skills, and pick up a thing or two along the way! Prerequisite: CPR & WFA or equivalent abilities Minimum Age: 12 years old - the minor(s) and a parent/guardian must all be paid registered participants.
